In 2014, I worked as a graphic designer for a corporate environment. It was an internship, so I didn’t make a lot of money. I decided to open an Etsy shop to try to make some extra money to pay my bills. In the beginning, I just bought digital files of invitations that people downloaded. I thought it was really cool that I could do something that I really liked and get paid for it.

After I finished checking my mail, I started to print the orders that had been approved by the customers. Good customer service skills are a must when you have an Etsy shop. Etsy changed the format and customers are contacting me with questions about my products. Sometimes it’s frustrating to answer the questions that are listed in the description, but I know it’s not the seller’s fault. You also need to be prompt and ensure that you deliver orders on time. You must schedule a processing time for your products, and Etsy handles each one. If you do not submit orders on time, you will be “penalized” by listing your products lower in the search results.
4. How much can a person pay per month? How much money can they earn after a whole year?

It depends on the product you are making. If you find a good product to sell, you could be making a couple hundred dollars a month just getting started. If you continue to operate your store and invest again, you may start to see a lot of money coming in after a year. I made two thousand dollars a month after a year selling on Etsy. I’m sure there are many shops on Etsy that make over a million dollars a year.
I like that I can set my own hours. I can do what I want and when I want. I don’t answer phone calls all day. Most importantly, I get to spend more time with my girls.
In all honesty, I don’t spend a lot of time promoting my products. I know, it sounds weird and fair, but I’m spending more time creating quality posts. I am dedicated to SEO (search engine optimization) and creating quality products.
You can be successful on Etsy if you put a lot of effort into your Etsy shop. Spend as much time as possible to learn as much as you can about selling with Etsy. Read books, blogs and listen to news!
