This is always the most common area that women want to lose weight (myself included). It has little to do with your genetics and body shape. Women with wider hips will tend to have a larger “hip gap”, but this is not always the case either.

The best thing you can do to lose inner thigh fat is to walk! When I walk a lot (for example, on vacation), my legs lose weight quite quickly. But I’m talking about a lot of walking, like 10 kilometers a day or more. And constantly, not just a few days here and there or a week.

Lots and lots of walking is time consuming and sometimes boring, so I understand why people don’t do it. But you don’t have to cover 10 kilometers in one session. You can build it during the day. I always try to start the morning with a 45-60 minute walk where I usually cover about 5-7 km. And then I’ll try to do the same walk during the day to get to 10km.

You can use the Health app on your iPhone to track your steps and distance (and I’m sure there are plenty of other free apps if you don’t have an iPhone). This is a great way to stay accountable and actually track your progress.

High intensity cardio will help you lose weight. Whenever I run a lot, my stomach (especially my thighs) gets smaller. You don’t have to run as a form of cardio – other forms like spinning and swimming will work just as well. But it should be intense and steady for at least 20-30 minutes.

High-intensity interval training is the best type of resistance training to lose weight in the lower abdomen and thighs. Incorporating exercises like burpees and lunges into your HIIT routines will actually help you shrink your belly even faster (weird, I know). But I can’t overdo these exercises or I’ll end up with bigger legs. I do them from time to time, but I prefer HIIT exercises that help tone and tone without bulking up my legs.

You will not lose fat in the lower abdomen and thighs if you overeat or consume a lot of sugar and carbohydrates, even if you exercise a lot. You need good nutrition.
