I previously wrote how to clear Facebook cache and Twitter cache. A similar thing is happening with LinkedIn. If you are sharing a previous article or page, the Open Graph tags will be taken to display the image and meta information. The problem is that your old tags may be archived on LinkedIn’s system. So you need a way to update it.

The new and easy way to clear LinkedIn’s cache is to use their Checkmail tool. They launched it in July 2018 and now it makes the process a breeze! This is very similar to Facebook’s discussion tool and Twitter’s card validator. It can help you to:

Another problem I encountered recently was when I was trying to send longer messages into LinkedIn. I get the following error: “The preview cannot be done. You can post as is or try another link”. From what I can tell, this has something to do with how much content is wrapped.

The solution is simple, just try to enter a small text first and then enter your URL. The URL should then work and you can paste the rest of the content.
