Grame said “when you look at the evidence, there really is no difference between intermittent fasting and just reducing calorie intake”.
“If you reduce the window you eat, say, to just 12-20 hours, you’re less likely to eat more calories, which makes perfect sense,” he says.

“You can absolutely include both in your diet,” says Graeme. “A lot of people say there’s good sugar and bad sugar, but there isn’t. It all metabolizes the same. What I would say is to moderate your intake.
Graeme said, “Why would you want to scrap bread, pasta and rice if there’s no evidence that they will lead to more fat?”

But Graeme pointed to a study where participants ate only white rice and fruit for a period of time and lost an average of one-tenth each.

But besides being—let’s face it—depressing, the diet doesn’t have longevity “unless you plan on drinking shakes for the rest of your life,” says Graeme.
He said people end up going back to their old eating habits because they haven’t learned anything about healthy eating and get stuck in yo-yos.
